샌디에고 연합감리교회 영어부 (박주영 목사 - 박희진 선교사님의 아드님) 를 섬기는 프리실라 (박동원/이선민 집사부부의 따님) 가 지난 7월에 끼르기즈스탄에 선교를 가서 받은 은혜를 성도님들과 나누고 싶어서 올립니다. 자랑스런 하나님의 자녀입니다. 우리의 모든 자녀들이 하나님을 잘 섬겨 아버지의 마음으로 다른 민족까지도 품을 수 있는 하나님의 기쁨이 되는 자녀들이 되기를 기도드립니다.

Hello Family and Friends!

Thank you so much for journeying alongside my team and me during the past ten days in Central Asia! God has revealed so much to me about his heart for his children, and he has given me an unforgettable experience by using me to be an encouragement and blessing to our brothers and sisters across the world.

The main purpose of my team was to encourage, empower, and refresh the leaders of Central Asia. We planned a leader’s retreat, which included a time for sharing sermons, testimonies, and seminars, a time for free time, and a time for rest. Through all these events, God used my team and me to share his love for his faithful servants. One of the most powerful lessons God has shown me through this mission trip is the undeserved grace he has given to us all.

On the last day of the retreat, our team had the privilege to wash the leaders’ feet and pray for them. After I finished praying for one of the leaders, Nikkita, he stood up and hugged me. Afterwards, he said this to me: Thank you. I can really feel God’s love through you. My initial thought: Mission accomplished. God used me to fulfill his purposes to spread his love to the leaders in Central Asia, and through me, he brought joy and peace in these leaders’ hearts.  This initial thought quickly faded when I reflected upon the position I was in as I prayed for these devout leaders.

Who am I to serve and pray for these leaders? I am so unworthy to be in the position of being a blessing to these leaders. These leaders are literally sacrificing their lives and families to live in the name of Christ, living daily with financial and emotional struggles, while I’m at home, living the “comfortable lifestyle.” Who am I to bless my brothers and sisters here when they are doing so much more for our Father than I am?

But I realized that it is not up to me to decide whether I am worthy enough or not to serve and bless others. It is all by God’s grace that he uses someone like me to share his love and joy to his children. God is merely using me. It is not by my own powers that I am able to share such genuine love to my brothers and sisters I met just a couple days ago, but by God’s grace and the Holy Spirit moving in me that I am able to love so freely, so I should not feel unworthy to pray for and bless these leaders. I am a daughter of Christ, he has provided me with unconditional love and grace, and it is through Him that I am able to bring such love, joy and encouragement to my brothers and sisters who face different, seemingly harsher struggles than my own, in order to glorify our Father.

On this trip, God used me to share his unfailing love with his children, whom he is so proud of, and I am happy to testify that no matter how important or unimportant we feel, how big or small we feel, or how worthy or unworthy we feel, God sees us and loves us all the same. He is our Father who cares for us always, and he uses us all in different ways that will allow his great name to be glorified here on this earth.

             I am so thankful for your faithful heart and for your support for my team and me during this past mission trip. I have learned so much of God’s heart for all his precious children, and I have witnessed God’s love refresh and empower others. I am so blessed to have such supportive brothers and sister who are willing to travel with me during my stay in Kyrgyzstan! Thank you so much for all your prayers and financial support to allow me to witness and testify the good works God is doing! I am so excited to see how God will continue to stir and challenge all of us in our growing faith! God bless you!
